Riotpwr ESL Gaming Controller Review Great iPhone Gaming In A Not-So-Great bundle
RiotPWR ESL gaming controller reviews, RiotPWR ESL gaming controller reviews
For iPhone games, the RiotPWR ESL gaming controller is a terrific option. However, the heft and color scheme leave a lot to be desired.
RiotPWR created a bespoke gaming controller in collaboration with ESL, previously known as the Electronic Sports League. The standard Xbox configuration with a removable iPhone attachment is seen on the RiotPWR ESL controller.
Custom third-party controllers still account for a significant portion of the industry, despite the fact that Apple has supported PlayStation and Xbox controllers on iOS and iPadOS. Companies like RiotPWR, which specialize in mobile gaming accuracy and low latency, fill a need in the market.
What is the design of the RiotPWR ESL game controller
The iPhone mount's color scheme is based on the ESL's green, yellow, and white colors, and it has a brand logo. This controller has just one color option: black.
With the iPhone, you'll need to use the controller's lightning cord. Pass-through charging is possible while using the controller because of the Lightning connector at the bottom.
The iPhone holder includes a hinge that allows you to modify the device's tilt. It fits snugly into a slot. To keep the holder in place, a little rubber flap is placed over the mounting slot when it's removed.
Even with an iPhone in the mount, the controller still feels well-balanced. Using the controller for long periods of time did not cause us any discomfort in terms of weariness or range of motion.
What's it like to game with the "RiotPWR ESL gaming controller"
Anyone who has ever used an Xbox controller will recognize the layout of the controller. Face buttons, a d-pad, analog sticks, hall effect triggers, shoulder and menu buttons, and a sharing button are all included in this controller.
A screenshot is taken when the share button is clicked, and a video is recorded when the button is held down. On iOS and iPadOS, it works with the built-in capture modes.
Depending on the game, each of the three menu buttons will have a somewhat different purpose. These are the start, home, and select buttons for gamers.
Is the RiotPWR ESL controller being used
ESL's "RiotPWR" ESL gaming controller impressed us with its ergonomics and button feel. For shooting and racing games, the hall-effect triggers were enjoyable to use.
If you're looking to play games on a Bluetooth-enabled device, you'll have to deal with slowness and signal failures. Using a direct cable connection, players will never have to worry about missing a crucial button hit.
To compensate for this, Apple has included an overly long Lightning cord for use with the controller. Only when the iPad is really nearby can you take advantage of the additional length of the controller with an iPad.
This cable is too lengthy for an iPhone mount and too short for an iPad. Having the right length for the iPhone 13 Pro Max would have made this cable even better. To keep the cord out of the way, we wrapped it around the iPhone holder.
The controller isn't easy to store or move either. The mount detaches, but there is no place for the data it contains to be saved.
Our issues with the controller stem from the fact that it was designed to work with iPads. Instead of making these tradeoffs, RiotPWR should have concentrated on its iPhone usage.
We had a few small gripes with the controller, but overall, we had a great time playing with it. We tried it out with games like The Last Campfire and Wonderbox on the Apple Arcade. We also played Minecraft for quite a few hours.
For individuals who are serious about their audio connection, there is a headphone port available. During competitive play, this would be crucial, but we used AirPods during our practice sessions.
An app named Ludu Mapp is advertised with RiotPWR's controller for games, tips, and promotions. Since the controller couldn't simply traverse the program, we found it to be of little use. The app didn't have much to offer, even with touch, and the games we wanted to play were much easier to start from the home screen.
Is the RiotPWR ESL controller worth the money
There are a plethora of controllers available for mobile gaming. Trying to figure out who the RiotPWR ESL controller is best suited for is challenging since most players already own a controller that is compatible.
Many other controllers, although giving an excellent gaming experience, do the same. If you have a Playstation or Xbox controller lying around, you'll be able to use an iPhone mount for roughly $12.
The Riotpwr ESL controller is a wonderful choice for mobile gaming competitors searching for a specialized controller. Other mobile controllers, on the other hand, have superior designs that are simpler to keep and carry, or better-built apps.
Using the Backbone One controller, you can play games right from your phone or tablet thanks to the controller's social and game-launching features. In spite of the higher price tag, this product is well-suited to its intended audience.
A corded iPhone controller, a yellow and green color scheme, and the desire for a full-sized vs. tiny controller all come into play when making a final decision. With this controller, you'll have a fantastic iPhone gaming experience.
